IDOX Uniform
IDOX Uniform supports base maps using WMS.
Uniform requires a WMS stem-style link, with no parameters included (such as getCapabilities).

{id} is your viaEuropa ID
There have been reports of difficulties using Basic Authentication so it is recommended that a standard viaEuropa ID be used for this application.
After adding the link, go into the Admin Tab, Customization, Spatial, Module map layers, right-click and retrieve and then configure your web based layer (See Reference/Map Inventory). Please note that this may vary depending on the version of Uniform being used.
Long WMS layer titles
The initial implementation of viaEuropa WMS used rather long layer titles which has caused problems for some client software, including Uniform. Layers with more manageable (but less self-explanatory) short-form titles have been added. The long-form title layers should be regarded as deprecated and will be removed imminently.
