General Overlays
Overlays are designed to be used with fractional opacity over a base map layer. Colour overlays generally work well over greyscale base maps.
An OpenLayers demo is available which can display and overlay (with opacity contyrol) over a basemap. Greyscale basemaps, such as m0130/m0230/m0330, work well.

viaEuropa "Time Machine"
viaEuropa Time Machine consists of a time series of map stacks (with contiguous maps IDs) principally based on OS raster products, specifically OS MiniScale, 250K Raster, 50K Raster and 25K Raster. Currently only available in BNG and SPM projections and as tiles/WMTS, but not WMS. These stacks are available to all PSGA members, but due to the large number of layers, they are enabled on request only. Please contact Support with the viaEuropa IDs you would like to use to access viaEuropa Time Machine. Use the m4068 (BNG) and m4468 (SPM) layers for template documentation that applies to every available quarter. New quarters will be added as data is released. Add 200 to any of the map IDs below to select a greyscale version.
