This map was an entry to the Esri User Conference 2018 Map Gallery.
Jack-in-a-Map is a 3D model of a fictitious peninsula which, from above, gives an image of Jack Dangermond, the president of the GIS software company Esri, Inc. The map was inspired by the fictious world modelled in the Disney movie Zootopia. In addition to marketing purposes, the project included valuable research on how virtual worlds can be built using software tools which operate in 2D and 3D space.
