In 1967, the first manned moon landing and subsequent moon walk, was one of the most remarkable events in human history. The NASA crew of Apollo 11, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins will forever be remembered for their achievement in July 1969. This map shows the nearside of the moon and the Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 landing sites from 1969. There are, however, several other fantastic 50th anniversaries this year, some of which we have celebrated in “orbits” around the moon. This includes the formation of the GIS company, Esri.
